What will you do with what God has given you – Day 15

Can you find the goat burying his bag of gold?

What do you think the pictures are trying to teach you about the Kingdom of God?

Step Two - Learn

Matthew 25:14-30

Click Here to read Matthew 25:14-30.

  • What one word or idea stood out to you and why?
  • What do you think Jesus is teaching about the Kingdom of God/Heaven?
  • If I gave you each $10 and asked you to turn it into more money, how would you do it? Buy ingredients to make lemonade or cookies and sell them for a profit? Buy materials to create a piece of art and sell it for more than $10?
  • What if you took my $10 and buried it in the ground? Would you make more money that way?
  • What are your gifts? (NOTE: Go around in a circle and name what you think each person’s gifts are. For example, when you are on ‘Jeff’ go around in a circle and each person names something they think Jeff is good at; art, basketball, singing, video games… etc.)
  • How can you use your gifts to advance the Kingdom of God?

Gifts can come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe you are a good athlete and you can use your gifts to help your teammates understand Jesus better. You could be amazing at baking cookies and bless other people with your cookies. You could be good at making friends and can make people feel very welcome and a part of a group. Everyone has different gifts to celebrate!

This little man named Zacchaeus in the Bible was trying to see Jesus over the crowd (Luke 19:1-10). Since he was so small he climbed a sycamore tree so he could see Jesus. Zacchaeus was very wealthy before he met Jesus. You could say his wealth was his gift. Once he met Jesus and believed in Him he gave half of his possession to help the poor. What are your gifts and how are you going to use them to advance the Kingdom of Heaven?

Step Three - Pray

Read Matthew 25:14-20 again:

How are you different after reading these verses?

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, help me to see what gifts I have and to use them to advance your Kingdom where I live. Help me to have courage to use my gifts all my life so others can be blessed and so they can know Jesus better. Amen!
