Step Two - Learn

Matthew 13:47-51

  • What one word or idea stood out to you and why?
  • What do you think Jesus is teaching about the Kingdom of God/Heaven?
  • What is the difference between the good fish and the bad fish?
  • How does it make you feel knowing that bad fish will suffer?

Only one thing separates the good fish from the bad fish – belief in Jesus Christ. Good fish do not go to heaven because they have been good. They go to heaven because of what they believe about Jesus; that He is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Jesus came down to earth to teach us how to live, but most importantly, He came here to suffer and die for our sins. He did suffer and die, but three days later He rose from the dead so we might live. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Step Three - pray

Read Matthew 13:47-51 again:

Do you believe in Jesus? Do you want to believe in Jesus?

Prayer:

NOTE: If someone in your group has never given their life to Jesus, now is a great time to do it. Ask your group if there is anyone who wants to give their life to Jesus. Have everyone pray the prayer below together.

Dear Jesus, I believe that You are my savior. I repent of the bad things I have done and receive your forgiveness. Thank You for suffering and dying for my sins. Please come into my heart and make me more like You for the rest of my life. Amen!
